Selecting
Applicants
Selecting an
applicant for a job is like buying a vehicle. Before you go, you
need to know whether the mission of the vehicle will be to carry a
lot of people in comfort, haul cargo, or travel off road. Then, you
can make the appropriate choices.
The goal of selection interviews is to make the most appropriate
choices...to hire the right people for the job. The goal is to match
applicants with openings. More specifically, to match an applicant’s
qualifications with the job requirements. The interview is a
subjective tool that attempts to forecast a candidate’s performance.

question about the homework no one did. People find their notepads
fascinating, others fumble in their briefcases muttering things no
one can hear, still others stare into space seeming lost in thought.
No one is looking at you!

become an ever bigger issue. Unless you do something positive about
it now.
Let’s look at some numbers;
